Teaching Towards Students

https://carleton.ca/

KEY ECONOMIC PRINCIPLES I’M ADDRESSING:

Because of scarcity, people choose. All choices have an opportunity cost. People gain when they trade voluntarily.

OVERALL RESEARCH QUESTION:
When choosing what to teach, how to teach, what are the benefits versus the loss towards students?

SUB QUESTIONS:
How do teachers/Districts/states determine how to use scarce class time?

(What to include or remove from the curriculum-----concepts, skills)?
How should schools allocate scarce resources to best serve the needs of its students?
What are possible costs or gains, towards diverse learners?

  1. I think this is a very interesting topic. One potential question is what motivates teachers to teach? Is it because they want to work with children, they are good at it, etc.
