Virtual Medicine: A good idea or horrid idea?

https://chealthblog.connectedhealth.org/2016/04/28/the-quality-of-virtual-visits/

The economic principle I am exploring is: "People generally respond to incentives in predictable ways." This article entitled "Virtual Visits and Patient-Centered Care: Results of a Patient Survey and Observational Study" analyzes patients' responses and surveys with respect to virtual healthcare. This helps me research my topic because it demonstrates how many people mirror each other when they find something affordable and effective, like virtual medicine.

According to the article, the study took place in British Columbia, Canada, where virtual visits have been publicly funded since October 2012. A survey of patients who used virtual visits and an observational study of users and nonusers of virtual visits were conducted. As a result, the main conclusion was that virtual visits may be one means of making the health system more patient-centered, but careful attention needs to be paid to how these services are integrated into existing health care delivery systems. Patients from all demographic and medical backgrounds are using virtual visits. Similar to other studies, younger patients are more likely to have a virtual visit compared to older individuals. I think that this form of healthcare is becoming increasingly popular and will result in a surge of online visits when it comes to minor illnesses.

The next question I will be researching is "How far can online medicine take us?"
